Room to Grow. Same Family Feel. The Children’s House is Moving!

For some time, we have been looking for a new site that will allow us to offer both our Early Years and Prep school children more room to grow with improved facilities, including outdoor space.

And we are thrilled to announce that we have purchased a superb, purpose-built school site just across the road from our current location on King Henry’s Walk, less than a 60-second walk away!

The Early Years – Nursery, Pre-Reception & Reception 

Our Early Years children will move from Elmore Street to the idyllic King Henry’s Walk site, which is our current Prep school.  Here, children will benefit from more classroom space and their own playground, perfect for indoor-outdoor free flow educational activities.

King Henry’s Walk is just across the road from our new Prep School site on Kingsbury Road. Early Years children will therefore be more deeply integrated into the wider school community and benefit from these facilities as well.  All Early Years pupils will be guaranteed a through option to Year 6.

The Prep

The Prep classes from Years 1 to 6 will move to the new site. This purpose-built school campus features spacious classrooms, a large garden terrace, dedicated SEND and specialist subject facilities, significant outdoor space and a large Assembly and Sports Hall. It also contains extensive office and breakout spaces for Administration. It has been shortlisted for numerous design awards with it being so close to the Early Years building we will be able to maximise its value and benefit for all our pupils.

Both sites will be undergoing refurbishment over the coming months and at this stage, we anticipate staggered moving dates. As the timelines become more definite, we will provide updated  details here and via the school newsletters. At this moment, we expect both the Early Years and the Prep moves to take place before the start of the Spring Term 2027.

We are thrilled that these moves will allow us to continue to deliver an exciting education for our pupils, with even better facilities in which to enrich and inspire, with all the kindness and the care that The Children’s House is renowned for.
